OWLs is an acronym for "Online Writing Labs."  Owls are online writing services offered by many Universities and schools to give writers help online.  Handbooks are also listed with OWLs.  Since not all OWLs are organized the same way, and since not all OWLs offer everything you need, find one in which you can move about comfortably and which helps you solve your problems.

              Some of the topics included in various OWLs include but are not limited to grammar; punctuation; style manuals (APA and MLA); handouts covering resume building, writing business letters, writing research papers, lab reports; parts of speech; stage fright; writer's block; abstracts; revision; nonsexist writing;  memos; cover letters; etc.
